Adarsh Housing - Putting Principle at "Rest" and "Principal" to "Rust"..!!

This entire episode reminds me of another story.

Once a gate -keeper was appointed to take care of a property.A couple of days later, the gate itself went missing. So,where did the gate go..??Is the gate -keeper still at work..??Interestingly,he still was!!

In a sense this is like entrusting thieves with the job of a guard. This,in my opinion, does not work.

Initially the land was given out at concessional rate by the Maharashtra government in the posh Colaba locality to the society to construct houses for widows and who died in the Kargil war.Adarsh Housing society, which was originally meant to be a 6 storey structure, was later extended to 31 floors, allegedly without the necessary permits. It currently houses powerful people who are anything but war widows or orphans.Several members of the former Chief Minister Ashok Chavan were beneficiary of flats in the society. We know his outcome..!!

Meanwhile, sources say that the entire construction has not complied with necessary approvals from the Ministry of environment and forests.A show cause notice was issued by the ministry to the society with 10th December as the deadline. In all probability, this construction may be demolished.

What should we say..!! Here compliance to principle is a big question mark and the entire construction not meeting its purpose..!!So..principle at rest and principle to rust.
